Quick Win by the Algorithm: QUIK poised for growth

Quick Win by the Algorithm

On March 8th, 2017,  the I Know First algorithm had predicted a bullish forecast for QuickLogic Corporation (QUIK). It had a signal of 29.86 and a predictability of 0.17. The company reported gains of 21.51% in just 1 month and therefore, a quick win by the algorithm.

QuickLogic Corporation (QUIK) operates as a semiconductor company that designs, markets, and supports primarily Customer Specific Standard Products and secondarily, Field Programmable Gate Arrays, sensor software algorithms, software drivers, associated design software and programming hardware. It develops and markets low power customisable semiconductor and software algorithm solutions that enable customers to differentiate their products by adding new features, extending battery life, becoming more contextually aware and improving the visual experience with their mobile, consumer and enterprise products.

It has been a tumultuous last couple of years for QuickLogic. Financial results from the year ending December 31 were released, with the results telling a story. Gross margins narrowed from 39.80% to 35.63%, operating margins increased from -83.40% to -152.96%. Although, earnings rose compared to the same period last year, despite a decline in operating and pretax margins.

QuickLogic’s sensor processing system-on-chip (SOC) only uses about 2% battery and is a highly powerful and flexible product. Consequently, this leaves QUIK with a real opportunity in the market. New immersive applications are going to require smartphones, wearables and Internet of Things (IoT) devices to be always on and aware. Thus, low battery consumption is imperative.

QUIK will selectively license its proprietary ultra-low power programmable logic technology under the trade name ArcticPro.

Consumer demand requiring immersive technology where users feel “surrounded” is at an all time high. In order for this to be achieved, the processing must be done in low power hardware and “always on” mode, so users don’t have to manually activate it. QUIK finds itself uniquely positioned in the market with its EOS S3 sensor processing SOC that will be able to achieve the aforementioned in the most efficient way.

This bullish forecast on QUIK was sent to current I Know First subscribers on March 8th, 2017.

Before making any trading decisions, consult the latest forecast as the algorithm constantly updates predictions daily. While the algorithm can be used for intra-day trading the predictability tends to become stronger with forecasts over longer time-horizons such as the 1-month, 3-month and 1-year forecasts.
